Physics Degrees
The BS degree is ideal for a student planning to pursue graduate work in physics or a closely related field. With a strong emphasis on technical physics, the BS requires twelve physics courses, five math courses, as well as a course each in electronics and computer programming.
The BA is designed for students looking to build a career grounded in physical principles coupled with other fields of study. Because of this, the BA requires four fewer courses than the BS and has multiple electives. This flexibility allows a student to tailor a path that fits well with a variety of other interests such as engineering, education, or mathematics.
The minor offers a deeper view into the discipline for students exposed to physics as part of their allied requirements. The three-course elective path beyond the introductory sequence provides a student with a chance to explore physics without overwhelming their other required coursework.
